The Hyundai Genesis Prada, a joint effort between the Korean carmaker and the trendy Euro fashion label destined for this week’s Seoul Motor Show, receives a host of updates, somehow managing to say both ‘subtle’ and ‘outspoken’ at the same time.
The result of more than four months work at both Hyundai’s Namyang-based R&D facility and Prada’s Milan design centre, the Genesis Prada features a stunning satin blue body finish (though it looks somewhat purple in these images), with similar effects to the grille and badges. Hyundai has revealed the first pictures of an innovative plug-in hybrid concept car. Due to be revealed at the Seoul Motor Show which opens on April 2nd, the “BLUE-WILL”, has exceptionally advanced technology crammed inside its striking bodyshell.
Recycled PET soft drink bottles were used to make the material for the headlamp bezels while use has also been made of bio-plastics: PLA for the interior while PA11 was specified for the engine cover. Chung Mong-Koo, Chairman and CEO of South Korea’s largest automaker, unveiled the much anticipated luxury sedan at a launch event held at the Grand Hyatt Seoul which was attended by over 1,000 VIP guests, including South Korea’s Prime Minister Han Seung-Soo.
“This is the car that will elevate the Hyundai brand to the highest level,” Mr. Chung, Chairman & CEO, said at the launching ceremony.

Hyundai Motor America announced pricing for the new Genesis Coupe, starting at $22,000 for a well-equipped 210-horsepower, 2.0-liter, turbocharged, four-cylinder engine 2.0T model and $25,000 for the 306-horsepower, 3.8-liter, V6 engine model.
