With the 911 GT3 RS 4.0, one of Porsche AG, Stuttgart’s most popular, coveted and successful racing pedigree production cars is entering the home straight. Limited to 600 vehicles, the 911 GT3 RS 4.0 brings together in a road car all the attributes that have made the Porsche 911 GT3 a serial winner on the race track. The new model purveys thoroughbred motorsport technology to its innermost core. The flat engine’s crankshaft has been lifted unchanged from the 911 GT3 RSR racing car’s six cylinder engine and the forged pistons’ connecting rods are fashioned from titanium. The four-litre displacement sports engine, the biggest 911 model line engine ever, is also the most powerful naturally aspirated engine with 125 hp/litre (92 kW). It achieves its maximum power of 368 kW (500 hp) at 8,250 revs per minute. The engine delivers its maximum torque of 460 Newton metres at 5,750 rpm. Read the rest of this entry »
Very low-slung, very sporty, and very rare: The Dr. Ing. h.c. F. Porsche AG, Stuttgart, launches a small edition of a new 911 Speedster. Paying homage to the first Porsche model that bore the name Speedster – the 356 Speedster –, the production run for the new model is limited to 356 cars. The two-seater is significantly different from the other members of the 911 family. In the best tradition, the 60 millimetre lower, more raked windscreen, the flat contour of the sporty-look manual hood, and the characteristic double-bubble hardcover for the soft top define the striking profile of the new 911 Speedster. This makes the body of this rear-wheel drive with its 44 millimetre wider rear stand out even more. The new Porsche 911 Speedster will celebrate its world premiere at the Paris Motor Show in early October. Read the rest of this entry »
With a power output of 408 hp, outstanding vehicle dynamics and emphatically sporty equipment, the new 911 Carrera GTS ascends to the pinnacle of the Carrera model series. 23 hp more than the 911 Carrera S enable the new GTS – available as Coupé and Cabriolet – with 3.8-litre engine to close the gap up to the 911 GT3 with 435 hp. This additional sportiness goes hand in hand with the economic advantage: thanks to Porsche Intelligent Performance, the new top sports car consumes no more fuel than the Carrera S in the New European Driving Cycle (NEDC), and is also priced very attractively due to its extensive standard equipment. The new Porsche 911 Carrera GTS will celebrate its world premiere at the Paris Motor Show in early October. Read the rest of this entry »
